The oil/water-cooled four-cylinder four-stroke in-line engine with a stunning displacement of 999 cc has been torque-optimised, offering riding pleasure by default. Especially as the S 1000 R with its 165 hp and a full fuel tank weighs in at just 199 kg. With 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm it generates the highest torque in its category. The hepta-axis sensor box featuring ABS Pro and DTC ensures a safe riding experience.

Model update 2025: even sharper – even smarter

The model update 2025 is taking the S 1000 R to a new level – and tangibly so. Back in 2021, the Naked Bike had already received major technical and visual updates: a lighter frame, an updated engine based on the S 1000 RR, a new TFT display, and significantly more agile handling.

These were trivial changes compared to the 2025 update. The new S 1000 R comes with improved electronics, including an updated ABS Pro and new riding modes with more sensitive traction control, making sporty rides even safer. Additionally, it has an updated aerodynamics package with winglets for more stability at high speeds – a novelty in this class. The bike looks even sharper too: a more striking front section, new colours, and optional carbon packages give the motorcycle an even more radical aesthetic.

In short: The S 1000 R is still a truly powerful Naked Bike, but now it has even more fine-tuning, more technology and more attitude for ambitious riders.
