Accelerate, brake, steer – and leave the rest to your bike. The new BMW R 1300 GS with automatic shift assistant (ASA) lets you take an even deeper dive into your adventure. Clutch operation and manual gearshifts are not needed. Simply switch to shift mode "D" and focus fully on the route ahead. The new shift assistant is based on an electromechanical actuator which performs the gearshifts smoothly, efficiently and almost imperceptibly. Ideal for touring newbies, riders who prefer more comfort and convenience and anyone who simply wants to experience more. Sit in the driver's seat and use shift mode "M" for that familiar riding experience – but if the revs drop below or increase above the gear-dependent limit, the gears are shifted automatically.
